Helping Funders Across the Midwest Strengthen Nonprofit Ecosystems, Equitably

Through a combination of an online platform, 1:1 nonprofit coaching and peer-to-peer learning, funders across the Midwest are supporting their nonprofit partners in building mission-facing and back office capacity in a manner that best suits them. Resilia partners with a wide variety of funders across the Midwest including community foundations, United Ways, corporations, and more to build the capacity of the nonprofits on the ground serving historically marginalized communities.

About The Program

Equitable Access to Capacity-Building Resources

Midwest funders sponsor the Resilia program for their grantees, nonprofit partners, and fiscally sponsored organizations to enable three entry points into comprehensive capacity-building resources. Nonprofit partners then get to decide what support they need, how and when, depending on their organizational needs, urgency, and preferred mode of support.

  • “At United Way of Greater Cincinnati, we believe those closest to a particular challenge are likely closest to the solution. This belief was one of our primary motivations for launching our Black-led Social Change initiative and for transforming the way we work across all of our initiatives. But we know that providing access to funding is only part of the solution. We are excited to enter this partnership with Resilia to strengthen and build the capacity of change-makers in our community. We expect the platform and affiliated services will be game-changing.”

    Moira Weir

    United Way of Greater Cincinnati

  • “It's important for philanthropy to support these organizations because they are closest to the solutions of the critical inequities being addressed. Supporting this capacity building initiative relieves some of the administrative burden these organizations face, thus allowing them to be more effective in achieving their missions."
