Resilia Partners with Pocono Mountains United Way to Strengthen Nonprofits

Partnership to focus on BIPOC-led/serving, grassroots, and rural organizations.

New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and Pocono Mountains United Way have come together to strengthen the capacity of BIPOC-led/serving, grassroots, and rural nonprofits in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

Pocono Mountains United Way is committed to building a more equitable future for all of Monroe County. As a part of this commitment, they are inviting their nonprofit partners to walk alongside them as they integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into all aspects of their collective work. Together, Pocono Mountains United Way and their nonprofit partners strive to make Monroe County a community where everyone has the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.

“We at Pocono Mountains United Way are eager to partner with Resilia to deepen our commitment to building an equitable community where everyone has ample opportunities for quality education, good health, and financial stability,” said Michael Tukeva, President/CEO at Pocono Mountains United Way. “With the launch of Project Equity and the Monroe County–Resilia partnership, it is our goal to holistically support nonprofits in reimagining their way of ‘doing’ and ‘being’, strengthening the ability to collectively emerge and mobilize as drivers of equitable and systemic community change.”

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Pocono Mountains United Way in this unique partnership to help strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion within their organization, as well as within the change-making nonprofits they support,” said Resilia CEO and founder Sevetri Wilson.

Through the partnership, Pocono Mountains United Way has joined Resilia’s flagship Elevate initiative, a first-of-its-kind national learning and action network of 30+ Funders aimed at elevating the capacity and voices of BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving grassroots organizations.
