Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits Partners with Resilia to Strengthen Nonprofits Throughout Greater Baton Rouge

Initiative to focus on strengthening a cohort of organizations through a first-of-its-kind partnership with The Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation.

New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits (The Alliance) have come together to strengthen the capacity of a cohort of nonprofits in the Baton Rouge area.

Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits works to educate, engage, and empower the nonprofit community in Louisiana. Louisiana’s nonprofit sector comprises approximately 18,000 organizations, employing nearly 150,000 Louisianans (as of 2020). The Alliance offers a centralized resource hub for education, training, accountability, and advocacy for nonprofits.

For this first-of-its-kind collaboration, The Alliance will present the program funded by the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, combining Resilia’s resources with multiple in-person intensives facilitated by topic experts from Louisiana and other states.

“We are so excited about this opportunity to educate nonprofit leaders in the Baton Rouge area with an intensive, 12-month pilot program focused on strengthening organizational capacity, measurable outcomes, community impact, and operational effectiveness,” says Jill Roshto, Executive Director, Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits “and are hoping to expand this program around Louisiana.”

“Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits is providing much-needed resources and education to the nonprofit community in our home state of Louisiana, and we are proud to partner with them to strengthen the capacity for nonprofits statewide,” says Resilia, CEO and founder Sevetri Wilson. “This partnership is significant for me because Louisiana’s vibrant nonprofit community inspired me from the beginning of my career in our sector over fifteen years ago. I’m thrilled to bring Resilia’s resources to our state’s change-makers.”

About The Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits

The Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits works to educate, engage, and empower the nonprofit community in Louisiana. The Alliance is a member-based organization that offers a centralized resource hub for education, training, and advocacy for nonprofits.

The Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation

Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation was created in 1986 and began grantmaking in 2000 to better the lives of the people in the Greater Baton Rouge community. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson believed communities should use their local talents and resources to solve problems; however, communities sometimes need additional support along the way. The Foundation believes when people have their healthcare, education and basic needs met they can be self-sufficient, productive, and successful members of society. The Wilsons knew that the most disadvantaged people in our communities need the most assistance, so the Foundation focuses on the sick and disabled, the indigent, and the formerly incarcerated. Through all its efforts, the Foundation invests in programs that seek to eliminate barriers and address the root causes of problems.
