Resilia Funder Program Case Study

Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits

About the Organization

Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits works to educate, engage, and empower the nonprofit community in Louisiana. Louisiana’s nonprofit sector comprises approximately 18,000 organizations, employing nearly 150,000 Louisianans (as of 2020).

The Alliance offers a centralized resource hub for education, training, accountability, and advocacy for nonprofits.

Challenge

Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits knew that the biggest challenge their grantees faced was a lack of resources to support their ability to serve their communities most effectively. To enable their grantees to achieve a greater impact, Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits needed a solution that focused on strengthening nonprofit organizational capacity, measurable outcomes, community impact, and operational effectiveness.

However, as a small team, Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits was limited in the resources they could realistically provide alone. Familiar with Resilia Founder and CEO Sevetri Wilson, a fellow Louisiana native, Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits reached out to Resilia to learn how the tech-for-good organization could help.

Solution

While Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits as a statewide organization has provided basic capacitybuilding resources for years, they discovered that Resilia provides resources and support at a much deeper and more comprehensive level. This led them to realize that they could leverage Resilia to help execute their philanthropic mission.

Jill Roshto, Executive Director of Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits, was impressed by the accessibility to capacity-building resources Resilia provided nonprofits through on-demand, personalized 1:1 coaching, peer-to-peer learning, and an always-on technology platform. Put simply, Roshto concluded that, especially when it came to scaling growth, Resilia offered resources “that went beyond what their independent contractors could provide.”

While the online platform is well-utilized, the most popular aspect of the Resilia program for Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits has been the 1:1 coaching, which is led by a diverse, multilingual group of nonprofit experts that offer guidance in a relatable, personalized way.

“The feedback we receive most often centers around the 1:1 coaching. The idea of being able to talk to someone about a specific project or goal or need has been very, very helpful,” said Roshto. “And I think that we live in a world where this idea of a platform and being able to access some information at the exact times they need it is helpful as well.”
