Resilia Partners with Waco Foundation to Strengthen Cohort of Grassroots Changemakers

Partnership to focus on supporting BIPOC-led and serving, rural organizations

New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and Waco Foundation have come together to strengthen the capacity of grassroots organizations throughout McLennan County, Texas.

Waco Foundation’s mission is to promote solutions to community challenges, strengthen local nonprofits, engage philanthropists, and manage charitable assets in order to improve quality of life in McLennan County. Waco Foundation focuses on four areas of needs: promote solutions to community challenges, strengthen local nonprofits, engage philanthropists, and manage charitable assets.

Resilia will support Waco Foundation’s existing capacity-building efforts, which includes topical nonprofit management trainings, customized learning opportunities, and leadership skills development.

“A key aspect of our mission is to support nonprofits through grants and guidance, strengthening their ability to make an impact on critical issues in our community both today and in the future,” comments Nicole Wynter, Sr. Director of Community Investments & Operations. “This new partnership will provide participating nonprofits with an opportunity to access coaching, instruction and resources on a schedule and pace that meets their staffing capacity and life cycle needs. We look forward to helping this new cohort grow their capacity and impact.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Waco Foundation to strengthen grassroots nonprofits throughout McLennan County and build on their efforts to nurture diverse leaders,” said Resilia CEO and founder Sevetri Wilson. “We look forward to enabling local nonprofits to make an even greater impact on critical issues both today and in the future.”

Through the partnership, Waco Foundation has also joined Resilia’s Elevate initiative, a first-of-its-kind national learning and action network of 30+ funders aimed at elevating the capacity and voices of BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving grassroots organizations.
